According to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), has approximately 146 member states currently and Turkey signed in January 01, 1996; protection of a patent could be claimed in member states of the treaty with a PCT application in Turkey.
The application could be made before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), after the research proceedings (in case the applicant does not withdraw the application after the research report), application published with the International Search Report by WIPO and send to the countries, requested protection. In 30 months, from the application date ( in case a priority claim from the priority date ) step by step, gone through from the international phase to the national steps and at the selected countries protection occurs.
It is possible to apply for a patent registration, at the protection rejected countries for the Utility Model, based on the Utility Model application in Turkey.
